Math

The Math Department at South Forsyth Middle School offers a comprehensive, tiered learning structure designed to meet Georgia's updated K–12 Mathematics Standards while providing opportunities for accelerated and advanced coursework beyond grade-level expectations. Core offerings include standard 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade Math, each covering essential grade-level topics. For students ready to move ahead, Advanced and Accelerated courses integrate multiple years of mathematics allowing students to learn three years of math in two years (Grades 6 and 7). Students on these pathways earn high school math credit in Grade 8.

Most of all, the math department at SFMS is excited to teach your children. Our teachers enjoy helping students see how math is useful and interesting, whether through problem-solving, real-world examples, or preparing for future classes. We love seeing students build confidence, take on challenges, and realize that math can be fun and rewarding. It is an honor to support them as they grow and learn.
